KCDAA Legislative Request for Proposals - 2011
The KCDAA Legislative Committee is soliciting Legislative Proposals for the KCDAA legislative agenda
for the 2011 Legislative Session. This input from the membership will be considered by the Committee in
making its’ recommendations to the KCDAA Board of Directors. The RFP is the first step in the process by gaining the input of the membership in changes needed to the Kansas Statutes for the benefit of prosecutors. Please submit your proposals by August 27, 2010.

IT’S TIME FOR THE 2010 KCDAA AWARD NOMINATIONS

Please take time to nominate a member of the KCDAA whom you believe to be deserving of an award. This is the opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of the hard-working prosecutors who make up the membership of the KCDAA. Two categories of awards will be presented at the 2010 Fall Conference: The Prosecutor of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

All nominations MUST BE received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010.

The award winners are chosen by the KCDAA Board of Directors. The Prosecutor of the Year Award is presented to a prosecutor for outstanding prosecution of a case or cases throughout the year. Nominations may be made by either the prosecutor himself/herself or by a colleague.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a KCDAA member for his/her longevity as a prosecutor. The nominee must have served 25+ years in a prosecutor position, and not previously received this award. Nominations may be made by either the prosecutor himself/herself, or by a colleague, and will be chosen by the KCDAA Board of Directors.

The awards will be presented during the Fall Conference taking place October 10-11, 2010 at the Overland Park Marriott, in Overland Park, Kansas.

DUIs in the Public Eye: Prosecution of the High Profile Case
September 20-21, 2010
Courtyard by Marriott, Old Town, Wichita, KS
The Kansas Highway Patrol Drug & Alcohol Evaluation Unit, in cooperation with the Wichita City Prosecutor’s Office and the KDOT Bureau of Traffic Safety is offering a fourteen (14) hour course for prosecuting attorneys and police, featuring, legal and ethical issues involved in high profile DUI Cases. This seminar qualifies for two hours of Ethics.

The seminar is free of charge, but seating is limited. Early registration is recommended to ensure availability.
